SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS, AMPUTATION SAW BY SAVIGNY & COMPANY – Antique Medical Instruments
[custom_post_title]
[lightslider_looper]

A minor surgery set and a Dr Butcher’s type amputation saw by Savigny and Co. The saw has two alternative blades. The blades can be rotated to cut at any angle, like a fret saw. The minor surgery set has six scalpels and bistouries all signed Savigny & Co. Two other bistouries are replacements, one signed Weiss. One of the pairs of forceps is also a replacement. Three of the instruments are sterling silver, a probe, a scoop and director, and an ivory handles suture. Condition: Minor corrosion on most steel instruments. Wear and re-sharpening to several blades. The case is in good condition, except the inlaid brass plate in the lid is a poorly fashioned replacement.
