Medical Department USA Surgical Set Circa 1917

A military surgical set from the early 1900s. These classically depicted exactly where medical department USA surgical set instruments were to be found making a surgeons life a lot easier and surgery faster.

This surgical set is unfortunately, only partially complete but I have rarely seen these military sets from the early 20th Century so I bought it. A ‘serious’ collector would only buy a complete or near complete set.

Instruments (or at least the box) were made by the Kny Sheerer Company New York. I do not believe this is in existence any longer. If you want a link to explore the surgical instruments available check out this early 1900s Kny- Sheerer New York Surgical Catalog: https://archive.org/details/illustrationsofs00knys/page/1
