The first publicly available photographic process, the daguerreotype, was common, namely in the 1840s-50s.

The Civil War Officer Daguerreotype depicts an office with colored purple sword sash. Gilt highlights. A leather case on the table.

This cased civil war officer daguerreotype is in very good plus condition. It originated from the Wheeler family of Enosburg, Vermont.

Size: 2 5/8 x 2 1/4in. Overall: 3 3/4 x 3 1/4in.
