ANTIQUE CIVIL WAR AQUA GLASS BOTTLES MARKED USA HOSPITAL DEPT – Antique Medical Instruments
[custom_post_title]
[lightslider_looper]

Displayed are several USA Medical Department Union Army Civil War Medical Bottles made of glass in an lovely aqua color.

Embossed on the bottles is “U.S.A. HOSP. DEPT.” Embossed Civil War Medical bottles tend to have this abbreviation although the embossing is sometimes straight and sometimes oval and/or surrounded by a circle.

The larger of the two glass bottles has a bubble in it if you look closely near the top. This type of imperfection was not uncommon when the bottles were made in the mid 1800s and can help speak to authenticity as I understand some of these bottles are being reproduced although I have not yet seen any.

The larger bottle is about 8.5 inches tall, the smaller approximately 5 inches tall.
